At the inception, NKAR fully concentrated on outbound travel. Gradually the Company got involved in the inbound operations. Since getting into inbound tourism, the organization has been steadily growing, increasing the number of arrivals year after year. Currently NKAR offers a wide selection of services for business and leisure travel all under one roof.

Stability Through Diversity
NKAR is a member of a highly diversified group of companies (Devagiri Group (Pvt.) Ltd.), with interests in Plantations, manufacturing of tea and rubber, Hoteliering and Wholesale retail trading in general hardware. The members in the group include;

Iddamaldeniya Estate Ltd.- The Factory was bought over in 1997 by Devagiri Group. Today Iddamaldeniya Estates produces over 50,000Kgs of low grown tea per month.

Davidson Tea Company Ltd – This factory is fully equipped with modern machinery, including colour separators that grade the quality of tea be sensing the colour. This modern factory too produces over 50,000kgs of processed tea per month.

Devagiri Hotels (Pvt.) Ltd., (Hotel Club Lanka): In 1983, the group ventured in to the hotel sector with the establishment of Hotel Club Lanka, a Tourist Beach Resort at Koggala.This 40-roomed hotel with 80 beds on the south Coast is the ideal venue for water sports, and provides swimming pool and many other recreational facilities. It has also weekly entertainment programme with scrumptious buffets, barbecues etc., Hotel Club Lanka has a year round occupancy average of 65%.

Nanayakkara & Company. (Pvt.) Ltd.,: Nanayakkara & Company (Pvt.) Ltd., was the first investment of the group as a wholesale trading company for food and other commodities. This company was established well over 55 years ago. Today the establishment has taken a different turn and has moved in to wholesale and retail hardware merchandizing.

Nkar Sky Clan (Pvt) Ltd: The company was established in order to focus on airline representation. In keeping with our objective, we were appointed general sales agent for Pakistan International Airlines in Sri Lanka in December 2002.

Since the appointment of Nkar Sky Clan (Pvt) Ltd as GSA, PIA – Colombo made it’s mark as the highest revenue generating station in their offline network.

PIA (Pakistan International Air Lines) re-commenced online operations into Colombo with affect January 2004.As GSA for PIA we are responsible for all marketing functions for both Passenger and Cargo products and also look after all aspects of Airport operations. Needless to say we are extremely competent in all aspects of airline representation. As GSA we have also promoted various interline agreements to market the PK brand besides improving yield.
