Overnight at Negombo

Wake up to the tropical sunrise and head out to Wella to observe the fishermen’s way of life. Watch how they spread out their nets with care hoping for that ‘big catch’. Then simply take few steps towards the busy fishermen pulling fishing nets ashore.

Breakfast at the hotel and Then proceed to Sigiriya while experiencing how busy roads change gradually to a flat terrain spreading miles ahead as the climate gets warmer. Surely, it will be fascinating to observe how the road starts to get carpeted between lush green paddy fields.

As the journey begins you will witness the Coconut cultivation and when you drive towards Sigiriya, you will see vast areas of paddy fields. It is really an amazing thing to see how the environment changes from coastal line to paddy cultivation. As your journey deepens into the northern part of the island you will be able to witness exotic birds, Monitor Lizards, grey Buffalos and overly friendly Monkeys.

While travelling to Sigiriya you will witness the beautiful pineapple plantations. Stop near a pineapple plantation and enjoy the fresh and tasty pineapple. It will open your taste buds and you will feel refresh after a long drive.

Stop to visit Pinnawela Elephant orphanage, where you could feed the animals, and also engage in an Elephant back ride

Pinnawela is situated in the Sabaragamuwa province of Sri Lanka close to Kegalle town. An orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants is located at this village remarkably known as ‘Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage’. The orphanage has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world and visited daily by many local and foreign tourists. The main attraction is clearly to observe the elephants bathing and feeding which is quite an experience. The orphanage was launched to provide a lifeline to the orphaned baby elephants and adult elephants lost in the wilderness.

Once you reached Sigiriya, you will feel the warm tropical weather, but the constant breeze will make you feel tireless, evening Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Sigiriya is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka close to Dambulla. It is a fortress complex of a ruined palace and one of the World Heritage sites declared by UNESCO. Undoubtedly the most treasured historical monument in Sri Lanka and probably the most visited tourist destinations in Sri Lanka, The most looked forward feature of the fortress is the frescoes. Another fascinating detail is its mirror wall. Every step from the entrance to the top is a marvel on its own, and the interesting surroundings makes the tedious climb to the top easy.

Overnight stay at Sigiriya

You will have your breakfast and do a village trek at Hiriwaduna,

Take a ride in a bullock cart swaying from side to side on an unpaved trail, enjoy a nature walk through a scrub jungle, wade through a local stream with low hanging branches, cross a lake in an ‘oruwa’, the traditional mode of over water transport, spend time with a farmer harvesting crops under his guidance and taste authentic village cuisine prepared by the farmer’s family with freshly picked produce and local herbs cooked in clay pots over an open heart fueled by firewood.

Optional – You could engage in morning game drive to Minneriya as this is the place you could view the largest elephant gathering (Seasonal from June to October period)

Minneriya national park is located 182 kms away from Colombo, in the North Central Plains of Sri Lanka. The major city closest to Minneriya National Park is Polonnaruwa. The recently renovated, the ancient Minneriya Rainwater Reservoir irrigates a considerable area of the district of Polonnaruwa and is the focal point of the Minneriya National Park. June to October is the best period to visit Minneriya National Park in view of the famous Gathering of the wild elephant herds. The gathering is documented as the largest known meeting place of Asian Elephants in the world. During the dry season of August to September each year, herds up to 300 elephants are seen within a few square kilometers of the vast Minneriya Reservoir. This Elephant Gathering is a thrilling spectacle that would be remembered for rest of the life of all those who were fortunate enough to witness it. 24 species of mammals and over 170 species of birds have been recorded here and out Of the 25 species of reptiles recorded in the park 8 are endemic.

Next you will be transferred to Polonnaruwa and do city tour, you could engage in a city tour in bicycles (Optional)

Polonnaruwa is the main town of Polonnaruwa District in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is the second largest city in this province and famous for its clean and beautiful environment, amazing ancient constructions and most importantly the huge lake Parakrama Samudra built in 1200 the city has many untouched ancient archeological relic sites and remains one of the best planned archaeological relic sites in the country. UNESCO has declared this ancient city as one of the World Heritage sites.

In the evening you will come back to hotel and relax.

Breakfast at the hotel and you will be heading to Kandy. En route you will also visit Dambulla Cave Temple and a spice garden at Matale

Dambulla is a popular tourist destination in Sri Lanka. The popular cave temple complex in Dambulla dated to the 2nd century BC is declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO. There are over 80 caves in Dambulla, some of which are used for meditation by monks. The Famous Rock temple has five separate caves containing 153 magnificent Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan monarchs and 4 Hindu deities. The Iron wood Forest (Namal Uyana) the ancient garden with a wide variety of plants built in the 10th century and Rose Quarts Mountain range which is 500 million years old cannot be missed while in Dambulla.

In the evening you will do Kandy city tour including a visit to Temple of the tooth relic and view of cultural show in essence of the Sri Lankan culture,

Kandy the popular charming hill capital of Sri Lanka is surrounded by hills, valleys, rivers, lakes and waterfalls. It is the cultural center of the island and a UNESCO heritage city. The sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha is enshrined at the Dalada Maligawa, the temple of the tooth. While in Kandy, a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens is a must where you can see around 4000 species of plants. The arts and crafts center in Kandy, the main Buddhist monasteries Malwatta and Asgiriya Monasteries are places that must be visited. Kandy is a great place for souvenir shopping and to learn about its rich culture and history

After breakfast visit the Royal Botanical Garden and therefore proceed to Nuwara Eliya, En route visit the Ramboda falls, a tea factory and a tea plantation.

Nuwara Eliya is a city in the hill country of the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The city is considered to be one of the most important locations for tea cultivation and well known for its cool climate being the coolest area in Sri Lanka. Many of the buildings have still preserved features from the colonial period. Many private homes have also maintained their old English-style lawns and gardens. The town wakes up with many activities in April for the Sinhalese and Tamil New year. Main allure during April season include the motor and horse racing events.

In the evening you will do Nuwara Eliya city tour including a visit to the Gregory Lake.

After your breakfast you will be transferred to Colombo Via Kithulgala visiting the Devon and St. Clair Falls and engage in a Team Building Water Rafting activity and also you can do confidence Jump + Stream Slides

After breakfast engage in Colombo City Tour and Shopping

Colombo – A drive through the city will take you to the Fort and Pettah- the commercial area of the city and tree-lined Colombo – 07 Cinnamon Gardens. Colombo 3, 4, 5, 8 are the prime residential area of the City. Visit Fort, and Pettah for Shopping. The Hindu Temple at Sea Street, lined with goldsmith’s shops, the Dutch Church at Wolfendaal, dating back to 1749. The historic Davatagaha Mosque, Independence Hall, B.M.I.C.H, are some of the attractions in Colombo.

Therefore you will be transferred to Airport for the flight
